ÄrräTraini is a mobile application that is intended as support alongside speech therapy and is suitable for exercise at home.

The application has been developed together with Finnish speech therapists. Both the content and the structure of the application follow the effective methods used in speech therapy for practicing the R sound.

ÄrräTraini is suitable for children of all ages, from 3 years old to teenagers. However, we recommend that an adult and a child use ÄrräTrain together, this way the adult supports the child if necessary and at the same time spends quality time learning together.

What is R?
Let's learn what R is? Let's recognize that voice, how it sounds, and how it should be said.

Motor skills exercises
- After that, the motor skills of the tongue and mouth are trained so that it is possible to pronounce the R sound at all. You need strong tongue muscles for that.

D sound
- Thirdly, we start pronouncing the D sound, which is much easier to pronounce than R, but it starts from the same place as the R sound.

Little r
- After that we move to little r, which is a bit like R, dzzz, shake that tongue.

Vibration search
- Fifth, we start the vibration search. Then, when that D has been found there, they try to shake that tongue even more aggressively.

R in speech
- The last section in this application is to place the erg in speech.

The application contains versatile tasks for practicing pronunciation with the help of various gamified exercises.
